Resource Efficiency and Circularity

Driving sustainable practices across operations

At Global Equestrian Group, we are committed to maximizing resource efficiency and embracing circularity across our diverse operations. We focus on reducing waste and promoting recycling in our stables, event venues, and apparel lines, ensuring that sustainability is embedded in every aspect of our business processes.

Ambition

Our ambition is to continually improve our resource management practices, aiming to significantly reduce our environmental impact.

Key Focus Areas

  • Stables: We recycle a variety of materials, including deep litter, horse shoes, and horse manure. We also ensure that end-of-life processes for horses are handled in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Event Venues: Our event venues emphasize waste reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainable resource management, aligning with best practices in the industry.
  • Apparel: We are committed to using recyclable or reusable packaging and partnering with manufacturers who adhere to sustainable practices across our apparel brands.

Targets

  • Continue reducing waste and increase recycling rates across all operations each year.
  • Enhance sustainable practices at all event venues and stables.
  • Transition to 100% recyclable or reusable packaging materials in our apparel line by 2025.

Progress

  • In 2023, Helgstrand Dressage sent approximately 3,600 tons of deep litter to biogas facilities, resulting in an annual reduction of 720 tons of CO2 equivalents.

  • As GEG acquires more equine events in 2024, we focus on improving  energy usage and waste management at the venues.

  • All horse shoes at our branded stables in Germany, USA and Denmark are sent to recycling facilities. In 2024 we work on getting more data from the recycling facilities to track CO2 reduction more accurately.
